Supervision

Counselling Supervision

Supporting Your Growth as a Therapist

Supervision is a vital part of safe, ethical, and effective therapeutic practice. For me, supervision is not about hierarchy — it’s about relationship, reflection, and collaboration. I see supervision as a shared space where both supervisor and supervisee can explore, learn, and grow together.

My role is to offer warmth, guidance, and encouragement while supporting you to strengthen your professional identity and confidence as a therapist. Even though I hold the title of Supervisor, I don’t claim to be “the expert.” Instead, I value an open, equal relationship where we both bring curiosity, compassion, and honesty into the work.

That said, ethical and safe practice always comes first, and I will challenge gently but clearly whenever needed — always with your development and your clients’ wellbeing at the heart of the process.

My Experience

As an experienced Psychotherapist and Counsellor, I have worked with a broad range of client issues, including:

  • Trauma and sexual abuse

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Bereavement and complicated grief

  • Anxiety, depression, and low mood

  • Addiction

  • Childhood neglect

  • Low self-worth and emotional overwhelm

This experience enriches the way I work as a supervisor and enables me to support counsellors who work with diverse and complex presentations.

My Approach to Supervision

My core training is in Person-Centred Therapy, and I stay rooted in the person-centred conditions of empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard. Alongside this, I have trained in:

  • Polyvagal Theory

  • Rewind Therapy for trauma

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Trauma-informed therapeutic approaches

This combination allows me to offer a flexible, integrative, and supportive supervision style, helping you explore different ways of working while remaining grounded in your therapeutic values.

My supervisory practice is informed by:

The Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision (Peter Hawkins & Robin Shohet)

A comprehensive model supporting deep reflection on the client, the supervisee, the therapeutic relationship, and the wider process — making room for growth, insight, and clarity.

The Person-Centred Core Conditions - These conditions shape the environment we co-create in supervision: safe, accepting, warm, and built on mutual respect.
